Given physical distancing measures currently in place, we must move some of our supports online. Our monthly parent and caregiver support group set to launch in St. John's in April will now be held virtually as a Zoom video meeting.
Please join our group facilitators as we chat about coping and strategies for living with FASD that are especially important during this unsettling time. This meeting is open to parents and caregivers across the province and will replace our regularly scheduled Virtual Support Group (originally scheduled for April 8). If you are interested in attending, please email fetalalcoholnl@gmail.com Zoom meeting information and directions for how to join will be circulated to those who RSVP.

We've just added compiled daily living strategies for parents and caregivers of individuals with #FASD. Now available on our website under Resources.
Each strategy document is downloadable and printable. The information is a compilation of everyday strategies and approaches used by parents and caregivers and parents of individuals with FASD. Each individual impacted by FASD has unique strengths and challenges. Therefore, not all strategies suggested will necessarily work for your situation. We recommend finding the best approach and routine that works for you and stick with it! CanFASD offers a free online training course Foundations in FASD. This basic training is a great introduction to FASD and takes approximately two hours to complete. It is available here. Due to last weekend's weather, two of our FASD day events were rescheduled to this coming weekend!
Please share widely with your networks for the events happening in Marystown on Friday, September 13th and in St. John's on Sunday, September 15th (more details in posters below). Registration is available online https://www.events.runningroom.com/site/?raceId=16474 or ahead of the race in Bowring Park on Sunday afternoon. 2019 FASD Day events across Newfoundland and Labrador (see event posters below) Friday September 6, Church Road Park, Grand Falls-Windsor Sunday September 8, Bowring Park, St. John's Monday September 9, Blanche Brook Park, Stephenville |
