Jordan's Principle Fact Sheet
The way First Nations children have been treated historically was determined to be inappropriate and discriminatory.
In attempt to rectify these disparities and improve equality/equity, the government of Canada is making funds available
for the supports and services needed by First Nations youth through Jordan's Principle. The aim is to provide
substantive equality, culturally appropriate services and providing what is in the best interest of the child.
