📢 Let's talk about FASD! September is International Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Awareness Month.
FASD affects ~4% of Canadians and is more common than autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome, combined. Yet, FASD is less known and is highly stigmatized. This month is dedicated to raising awareness around FASD and improving our understanding of the complexity of alcohol use among people who are pregnant, the prevention of FASD, diagnosis processes, and meaningful support for individuals with FASD. As the only organization actively engaged in FASD-related initiatives in Newfoundland and Labrador, we are dedicated to raising awareness about the prevention, diagnosis, and support for individuals with FASD and their families. Do you know someone who is pregnant or who may become pregnant? If yes, you are part of the solution to prevent FASD and spread awareness about the risks of alcohol use during pregnancy! Curious about what you can do? 📍Enrol in our FASD-informed training (available on a pay-what-you-can basis, or free for those who truly need it) 🔗https://fasdnl.thinkific.com/collections 📍Check out or share our resource toolkit 🔗http://www.fasdnl.ca/fasdawarenessmonth.html 📍Follow us and share our content on social media to improve our reach! @fasdNL on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube #InternationalFASDAwarenessMonth Comments are closed.
